I hope I don't sound mean with this. I just want to ask the ones, who added me in the last weeks why they added me.
Believe me, I have nothing against new LJ-Friends.

I would be glad, if you just take the time and answer me :)

I just found out, that one of my favorite bands is separating... A-ha is doing a farewell-tour in 2010 and then, they're leaving show biz. :(( I'm quite a little sad... At least we still have their songs, but it's always sad to know, that there will be no more new songs ;( I'll miss them. :(

Sorry, this entry is all messed up, but I couldn't get it better...I hope it's readable...

You hate SPAM-Emails? Well, me too, but I love their name, because they always remind me of Monty Python. Why? Because they were named after a sketch of them from the 70s... Today, 40 years ago, the first episode of „Monty Pythons Flying Circus“ was aired on BBC at 11 p.m.. John Cleese (better known as the new „R“ in the newest James Bond movies), Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin (not related to Sarah Palin ;) ), Graham Chapman and Terry Gilliam did a fabulous job with it. It was groundbreaking, in my opinion. They destroyed taboos, walked around in women's clothes, made fun of everything and nothing and I think, the best “work with words“ ever, was done by the Pythons. I adore them. I love „The life of Brian“ or „The Holy Grail“. I just love these movies. I have to watch „The Meaning of life“ soon, too. The sketches are so ridiculously funny and witty and just so damn British. I love the Brits and their black humor. I think that's the one and only humor. Black, dry and naughty :D
So, in Honor of the Pythons and in gratitude for their very own YouTube-Channel), I took five of my favorite Clips of the Pythons in here, that are in any way connected to my life. That's hard because I wasn't even born, when they were aired, but I loved them since I saw them one night on German TV...
And they have something for everyone. There is so much more of Monty Python. Check them out please and tell me what you think. The YT Channel is a good start and all of it in HQ!
So, here it comes.
My favorite Pythons )</div>

That was my little Monty Python retrospective. I hope you had as much fun as I had doing this entry by reading it. Go, watch them. It's tv history, it's society-history it's so much more! Thanks for listening...
And now to something completely different. (Yeah, that's something for the insiders ;) )

I don't have time for anything else, but this song doesn't leave my head :) I love it already :D It sounds new, but also so 80s and over all, I don't get that beat out of my head...
And the vid is interesting too :) Hope, it's not too old news...
Enjoy Pet Shop Boys - Love etc.

I'll try to be more active on Sunday. I just have three seminars to prepare, it's a little too much at the moment, but I try! *hugs F-List*

Q: Have you heard anything from Gale Harold who was in a hot relationship with your character on Desperate Housewives before his motorcycle accident?

Teri Hatcher: As far as I know, he's totally healthy. We've exchanged a few e-mails in which he seemed ready to go. I keep expecting him to be back. I think maybe what's going on is that the storyline sort of got derailed and they're probably trying to figure out how to bring him back.

Sounds good, right? Nothing new, but it's always good to hear something. :)

Yes, I'm awake. Don't ask. I think I'll return to LJ tomorrow. Will make a more personal update then. But, I found this in the mailbox a few minutes ago:

"Sitting way in the penultimate row, hiding his scruffiness under a cap, was Gale Harold. Yes, the recently hospitalized actor is up and about. We can reveal exclusively that he’ll be returning to Desperate Housewives after the holiday break. "

Don't know if it's old news, but it's good news, right?

I'm working on uni-stuff and that's when I get the weirdest ideas. So, maybe someone could help me?

I'm looking for some program or some trick to get all my music into a list or a table.
I only want to have all the titles and artists in a list. I'm tired of searching trough all of my music to find out if I have a certain song or not. I have the music already filed in folders, but they are mixed none the less. Has anyone a suggestion? I have over 1500 songs and it would be a real work to get them all sorted and into a table or something.

It would be great to have a solution for this dilemma.
Thanks in advance!

I'm back to reading this text *argh*

I'm late I know, but it's very important the whole year not only that day.

WORLD -AIDS-DAY 2008!!!!

Donate, help your regional AIDS-aids or just make your friends aware of HIV and AIDS.

Millions of people die of AIDS, Millions of people get infected every year. In Germany 1% of the German people are infected and it gets more every year.

HIV can get everyone. Straight, gay, old, young, male, female, black, white, thin, fat, small, tall. E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E.

You want to show your support? Here are some links:

World-AIDS-Day 2008 (international)
Welt-AIDS-Tag 2008 (German)
"Deutsche Aidshilfe e.V." (German Aids Aid)

"Bundeszentrale für Gesundheitliche Aufklärung" (Federal Centre for Health Education, Germany)

And here is one of my favorite Anti-AIDS-campaign from France. Watch it, love it and share it. (That's the gay version, there is a straight version too.)

And if you want to see awesome icons for the topic, go to [info]kinnetik_vision and show [info]friday82 some love!! She is so great and the icons for the world-AIDS-day are just plain awesome!! (If this is not okay, Friday, let me know!)

I'll write the next entry tomorrow, just to let you know. I'm a little tired right now. But, this one was important :)
Thanks for listening!! STAY SAFE!!!

THANK YOU, AMERICA FOR ELECTING BARACK OBAMA.

I think it's the best what happened to America in the last 8 years ;)

I watched CNN over Zattoo till nearly 5 a.m. Wow, that was exciting. The first counts were coming in and Obama won some of the big ones. I so hoped that "French fry" (McCain) wouldn't win the other states. That is one hell of a night. In Germany we have maybe three hours of media coverage of the election and all the counts are finished. I never saw an election night in America before, but after that maybe I'll watch the next one too. I wanted to see the whole night, but I had to sleep sometime ;) I only slept 3-4 hours because I had a paper for my presentation today to finfish *cough* ;) I'll take a nap later *lol* I'm still excited over this election. I hope everything went ok and Obama is the real next president (remember Florida in 2000? ;))

What's with Prop 8? All I read is that they are still counting and the results are very close??? Please America do me the favor and defeat this stupid Prop *crosses fingers* Does anyone now, where I can news about that?

Ooh, what a night, what a day... But, I'm happy :D You go, Barack!

I know, I know, long time, no entry. I don't have a reason for it. It's just how it is. I hope you had a great weekend and I see you soon!

A topic that is so important is "Prop 8". Please just stop it, ok? We don't need Prop 8. Neither America, nor the whole world. And because this is a discussion about human rights, Please spread the word, that PROP 8 is EVIL!!
On to the meme:

10 reasons why gay marriage is wrong. (READ THE ENTIRE THING)

1) Being gay is not natural.
And real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning, tattoos, piercings and silicon breasts...

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay.
In the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior.
People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. Lamps are next.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all;
Hence why women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed;
And we can't let the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children.
So therefore, gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our population isn't out of control, our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children,
Since, of course, straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion.
In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home.
Which is exactly why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms.
Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Re-post this if you believe love makes a marriage.
Vote NO on Prop 8

Rules (at least for me):

*~* Every week, there will be an essay/article about one of the topics, following the alphabet. (I’m beginning with A and move onto Z, just to be clear about that *lol*)
*~* If there is any delay, I have to mention it at least two days before the original publication-date (that’s just to put myself under pressure to really do it)
*~* Every essay/article has to have at least 1000 words.
*~* If there are more than three delays for one topic or three delays for following topics (i.e. one delay for f, two for g and one for h) the word-rate has to be upgraded for the next two topics to 2000 words at least. (that will be fun)
*~* If a topic can’t be dealt with properly, I have to admit defeat and write about a new one.
*~* the list with the topics stays public and will be updated with the links to the essays/articles
*~* There has to be at least one true, empiric fact about the topic in the essay.
*~* The essay/article has to be in English.
*~* I have to stay away from insulting anybody, even if it’s a politician or celebrity or a “normal person”. (That’s a very important one)

Man, there are a lot of rules, but these are mainly for me and for you to hold me up to it. I work well under pressure (from myself) and I have to have these rules to stay focussed and not back out or do shitty stuff.
If you want to grab this project and do it your way, go ahead
(although I don’t think you will). Just don’t grab the banner ;) I’d be happy to make one for you ;) Change the rules for you, really, these are mainly for me and are very firm, imo.
Maybe you’ll tell me, what you think of it?? :) Thanks! Oh, and sorry for any spelling and grammar mistakes. I’m really trying. So, enough said, onto number one – A.
